I've spent more than 30 years working across makeup artistry, from bridal and beauty to fashion, editorial, film and television. In 2003, I founded Artists Within Makeup Academy. OMI brings that practical teaching experience into courses you can follow from home.

My approach is practical: understand the technique, watch it in action and take time to practise. Whether you're starting out or exploring a new direction, I want your learning to feel clear and achievable.

Which certificate course should I choose?

Makeup 101 introduces the basics. Professional Makeup Artistry covers core techniques and bridal applications. Master Makeup Artistry includes a broader range of makeup contexts. Special FX focuses on creative effects. Each course page explains its topics and requirements.

Will an instructor review my work?

Professional includes three assessed practical checkpoints. Master includes selected applications and a final project. Special FX includes preparation and safety work, selected applications and a final project. These designated tasks include instructor feedback and one resubmission per task. Makeup 101 uses independent, ungraded practice, with optional paid personal feedback requested separately.

How long will I have access?

Professional, Master and Special FX provide two years of access. Makeup 101 provides one year. Start after enrolling and study within your chosen course's access period.

Are products or a makeup kit included?

The Master Makeup Kit is included with the $1,497 CAD Master pay-in-full option, or available separately for $399 CAD. The Pro Makeup Kit is an optional, recommended purchase at $1,197 CAD. Special FX kits are purchased separately. Each course page explains the supplies and kit options for its practical work.

Are these the same as the Artists Within diploma programs?

OMI certificate courses are separate from the diploma programs marketed through Artists Within Makeup Academy. Their formats, support and qualifications differ. The individual course page explains what is included.

Where do existing AWMA students log in?

Use Student Login to access the shared learning platform. Your enrolled AWMA courses remain associated with your existing account, while this site now displays OMI branding.
